Math Word Problems
In third grade we have already been introduced to math word problems. We like to look into the word problems to try and find out what they are asking us to find out. My kids love to play Frog Games to work on these word problem skills. I inherited these Frog Games when I came to third grade last year.
These word problems focus on various math skills. I have my kids play in groups of three. These games also promote working together, let's face it our kids need practice with this as well. My kids ask to play these games during inside recess!! You can order these by grade and by skill. If we are working on multiplication. I just pull out the multiplication stack of cards and they play. yay! Thanks for linking up! You are so right about our kids needing practice at working together. I have a few of those froggy games, too, for sight words & the love them! What better way to help kids sharpen skills than through games?!

Hi Jennifer! I'm a fellow Kansas Blogger and a former 3rd Grade teacher. I spent 7 years in the 3rd grade classroom in Johnson County, Kansas before stepping out to stay at home with my kiddos. I recently accepted a position at my kiddos' school (parochial) as a Resource Room Specialist so I will be making a return to teaching. I look forward to keeping up with the antics of your 8 & 9-year olds (my favorite age group!). I myself will have a 3rd grader, 1st grader, and preschooler this year. Fun times!!!
